About
Gus has recently completed a Bachelor of Design majoring in Industrial Design at Massey University of Wellington. With previous experience labouring for both an electrician and joiner, Gus has been exposed to a multitude of products and processes providing him with a unique hands-on approach; furthering his skillset which he can utilise in his design process.
Gus has been involved in a design internship, creating innovative product solutions for a medical sleep based research project with Massey University in collaboration with the Auckland District Health Board.
Gus has also had the opportunity to design and manufacture a specialist piece of research equipment for an academic University study for an Associate Professor.
Gus currently operates his design studio, Form 53 out of Timaru. Form 53 primarily manufactures furniture and lighting designs which are distributed and sold through online websites, art shows, art galleries, design store showrooms and interior design studios nationwide.
The Conic Lamp (seen below), a current lighting design, received a highly commended award at the 2018 ECC New Zealand Student Craft Design Awards.
